Janette grew up in Clairton, Pennsylvania—a steel town south of Pittsburgh. She received an Associates degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1981.
Her work has been shown in numerous galleries and museums, among them: The State Museum of Pennsylvania; The Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia, PA; The Demuth Museum Gallery, Lancaster, PA; The Carla Massoni Gallery, Chestertown, MD; Boxheart Gallery, Pittsburgh, PA; The Philadelphia Sketch Club, Philadelphia, PA; The Lancaster Museum of Art, PA; The Whitaker Center for Science and Art, Harrisburg, PA; Red Raven Art Company, Lancaster, PA, Mantis Collective, Harrisburg, PA; and The Doshi Center for Contemporary Art, Harrisburg, PA. Her mural work includes scenery in the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum, Bass Pro Shops in several USA locations, and the recent historically-inspired work at the rear of 301 Locust Street, Columbia.
Presently, Janette works as a scenic artist for American Music Theatre. Several of her paintings are in the collection of Lancaster General Hospital, the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, and Penn State Health locations.
